Bridal Terms and Conditions

Ordering System

On completion of your consultation and confirmation to us that you wish to proceed, your design will be developed within one week (unless advised from bridal consultant that there is a backlog);

Your initial deposit payment is to be made once you have received designs and you have approved them. Some brides ask us to design different options for them so therefore what we usually do is give a price for all the different designs we have done and they pay a £100 deposit and sit with their options until it is time for measuring and we start to make the dress as we do not want to pressure brides into making rash decisions.

Deposit rates are as follows:

Wedding dress – £100
Bridesmaids dresses- £50

Your wedding dress can be ordered any-time but you should think about designing your gown around 7/8 months before your wedding. As we have our own manufacturing team our turnaround time is alot faster than say that of a bridal boutique and we usually like to measure our brides around the 5-6 month point before your big day. Your dress will need to be paid for in full at this point in time.

Once your dress has been made up which is around 10-12 weeks, we will contact you and arrange your first fitting. Please remember that it is what it says on the tin A FIRST FITTING. 90% of the time the gowns are perfect straight away and there are no alterations to be done, others need small adjustments. Sometimes our turnaround times may change depending on backlogs and may be subject to change at any time.

Separate processes are currently in place for all our overseas / Long distance brides.


If you require any alterations done to your dress that is not on the original design this is chargeable and the cost will be bore by you. We offer each of our brides plenty of opportunity to tweak the design before the dress is actually made up.

Should you lose or gain weight after measurements have taken place, this again is a chargeable cost and will be bore by you the client. We can only make a dress to a size that we take the measurements for on that day and it is the responsibility of each bride to maintain not just their weight but their actual size. We have alot of occurrences where brides actually gain weight but lose inches or even vice versa loose weight and gain inches..this is usually attributed to hormone balances, contraceptive pill changes or sport. We do however to endeavor to keep the costs down as far as possible for you in these cases and we are often alot cheaper than a high street seamstress.

Pregnancy during our ordering process is a stressful and nerve racking time for all parties involved due to each party not knowing how the bride will grow. Although every effort will be made to keep the same design that was originally signed off sometimes design changes may need to be brought into play. We will ask for the seams to have extra allowance in order for the dress to have the capability to be taken out however, House of Mooshki will not bear the cost of this.

Measurements & Maintaining Size

Your dress will be made to exact measurements that are taken or supplied to us at the time of ordering. Your weight or size MUST be maintained and this is the responsibility of the bride and not us. Dresses can be taken in but we have little room to take a dress out, however stated above should your body shape or measurements change we cannot be held accountable for this and the bride must pay the alteration costs.

If you are one of our overseas brides please when measuring – keep in mind heel height and measure with either the shoes you will be wearing on your wedding day, or similar height – as dresses can be taken up, but not down. Please follow the instructions on the measurement chart carefully.

Alteration fees are not included in the price of the dress.

Payment System

A deposit will be requested at the start of the process once the designs have been completed however you will be asked before we even start your designs how serious you are in using House of Mooshki so that no one party’s time is wasted . The amount of this will be dependent on the amount of products you are having designed. This deposit is the design fee. The deposit is £100 for a wedding dress and £50 if you are having your bridesmaids gowns with us too.

The usual order of payments are as follows:

  • Initial deposit then remainder before submission of order when measurements take place. If you wish to pay your dress off early and in installments then this is not a problem for us either.


Once your dress has started to be made THERE ARE NO CANCELLATIONS – as work has started immediately on your dress. You must be 100% certain you are happy with the designs. You can adjust anything on your design right up until we confirm the order at your measurements appointment after this time it needs to stick to the design…afterall…you have designed your own dress.

If we have started to make your dress and your wedding is put back or cancelled, unfortunately your dress still has to be bought as it has started to be made.

If during the design process and you then change your mind and cancel the design either you will lose your already paid deposit or you will be charged a £100 cancellation fee. This is to cover our design time.


If after your design has been signed off, you decide you want to develop new designs then a secondary design fee will be added to your overall invoice. Should you change the design of your dress after it is made then the cost to do so will be paid for by you the client.

Refund & Exchange Policy

We currently operate a No Refund & Exchange policy – once you have ordered there is no option to refund or exchange. As your gown in made to your specifications and measurements it cannot be sold on to recoup costs.

All brides – by paying your deposit you are thereby adhering to these terms and conditions.

By paying your final invoice you are also acknowledging and accepting these terms and conditions.
